When I Sing
If I was a redbird high in a big ol' tree,
Wind beneath my feathers, blue sky over me,
I would sing a love song, forever sweet and true.
Singin' for my redbird girl, that's exactly what I'd do.
But I am not a redbird, and I do not have wings.
But I can almost fly when I sing.
If I was a mockingbird sittin' on a line,
Lookin' out across the world and lookin= mighty fine,
Making up a melody of every song I=ve ever heard,
That's what I'd be doing if I was a mockingbird.
But I am not a mockingbird, and I do not have wings.
But I can almost fly when I sing.
